Three murdered in City

LAHORE – At least three people were murdered in as many incidents in different parts of the City on Saturday, police said.
According to details, a cloth merchant was shot dead in THE Johar Town area on Saturday evening. Police said a gunman, yet to be identified so far, stormed into a fabric shop situated in G-I market in THE Johar Town police vicinity. The gunman opened straight fire on the man, later identified as Hassan Tahir, a resident of Sanda, and fled away from the scene.
The shopkeepers told the police that a man visited the shop and asked about one Nazir. As Tahir expressed his ignorance about the said person, he left the shop but came back after some time and opened straight fire on him. As a result, the shopkeeper died on the spot.
Fear and terror gripped the entire commercial locality as the shopkeeper was shot down during rush hours. The police later reached the spot, collected evidences from the crime scene, and shifted the dead body to the morgue for autopsy.
In another incident, a 45-year-old man was found murdered at the ground floor of Al-Miraj Arcade under mysterious circumstances in the Mozang police limits on Saturday.
Police investigators said the man, identified as Asghar Butt, a resident of Mozang, was lying dead with bullet wounds in the head as they reached the crime scene. The man had established an office in the arcade, where he was killed before his expected meeting with a woman, police investigators believe. The police have removed the body to the morgue for autopsy and are investigating with no arrest made so far.
Meanwhile, a father of four children was found dead in the Shahdra Town police limits on Saturday. Police investigators said the man, identified as Sheikh Ahmad Hassan, a resident of Karim Park, had been missing for the Past four days. The police have removed the body to the morgue for autopsy and are investigating.
Police said the man, apparently a drug addict, was lying dead near Railway Phattak graveyard as they reached the spot. Further investigations are underway.
Also, a schoolboy was crushed to death by a rashly-driven tractor-trolley in the Kahna police area on Saturday. A resident of Kahna, Muhammad Waseem, 16, was on his way home when a recklessly-driven tractor-trolley ran over him, resulting in his on-the-spot death. The driver along with the driven managed to escape from the scene. The police are investigating.
