Rescue-1122 to be extended to tehsil level: CM


LAHORE – Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif on Monday ordered to increase the salary of Rescue-1122 personnel and make it equival to that of Punjab police’s. He was addressing a function at the Ferozepur Road Emergency Services Academy.
According to the Rescue spokesman, Shahbaz Sharif admired the services of the rescuerers and ordered to increase their salaries. He said the respect of the Service was due to its satisfactory services. “The PML-N led government has expended Rescue 1122 in all district headquarters across the Punjab in the best interest of the public. Now it will be expanded to the tehsil level.” 
Ch. Muhammad Sarwar (British Parliamentarian) said on this occasion that he was proud to be connected with Rescue-1122 which is now a model for SAARC countries. He also assured continuous support from the people of United Kingdom to the people of Pakistan and especially to the Service in real term with all kind of help and appropriate support.
The DG Rescue-1122 informed during his welcome address that the Service has rescued over more than 1.2 millions emergency victims with average response time of less than seven minutes in all over the Punjab. The Service has also crossed provincial boundaries and provided technical assistance to other provinces by the directions of Govt. of Punjab. He also expressed his confidence that rescuers will maintain the internationally acknowledged standards of the Service in all districts of Punjab by providing emergency service in day and night in case of any emergency/disaster.
Meanwhile, Punjab Chief Minister Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif has directed the police and concerned agencies to recover within next 48 hours the six missing students of a private school in Rawalpindi.
The CM issued these directions while presiding over a meeting of the senior officials of Rawalpindi Administration at Islamabad Airport on his return from Germany Monday. Commissioner Rawalpindi, RPO, Additional IG, District Coordination Officer, City Police Officer and officials concerned attended the meeting.
