LAHORE – Police on Wednesday arrest several employees of TEVTA during a clash between police and the employees at a protest camp here at Jail Road.
The TEVTA employees were protesting for their demands including raise in pay scale. During clash, police baton charged on protesters while the protesters pelted stones on police personnel. As per details, TEVTA employees set up a protest camp near Siddique Trade Center, Jail Road and when they start protest, heavy contingent of police reached on the site and baton charged on the protesters.
The protesters said that they were peacefully protesting for their demands but the police raided them and started baton charge. They said the government neither raised their salaries nor their pay scale was updated since last two years.
