LAHO RE - Four accomplices of Shahid gang killed yesterday by rival gang in Harbanspura were notorious gangsters involved in a large number of felony acts committed in different areas of the City, sources close to the investigators said. Sources said the gang is involved in land grabbing, gambling, dacoities, robberies, murder, attempt murder and gang rape. The notorious gangsters Rustum and Shahid both were close friends couple of years back but they had developed differences after Shahid Khan gunned down Muslim Butt, Rustams accomplice and since then they were operating separately. They had purchased a market located in Ghaziabad and an empty plot adjacent to the market but the registry was made in the name of Shahids friends in 2007, a police official said. Sources said Shahid refused to give share to Rustam Khan when his friend Muslim Khan threatened Shahid of dire consequences. This verbal quarrel between two gangs resulted in sudden death of Muslim Khan, which infuriated Rustam. On Sunday night at about 12:50am at least eight accused namely Rustam Khan, Ghulam Farid, Maqsood alias Maqsooda, Majeed alias Majeeda, Allah Rakha, Bohla and two unidentified people gunned down four gunmen of Shahid Khan including Sarfaraz Shah, Tariq, Ashraf and Murtaza near Mughalpura Bridge. At least two bullets pierced into Shahids legs but his condition is out of danger, he added. A case has been lodged against eight accused with no arrest so far. Police have constituted four raiding teams under the leadership of SHO Harbanspura Mohammad Adrees Qureshi.
