Plan chalked out to meet flood emergency

LAHORE - A comprehensive plan has been chalked out to meet any emergency situation in case of flood during the monsoon season.
The plan envisages that flood warning centre will start working from June 15 besides passing direction to all the administrative heads at the level of division and district for immediate shifting residents of those localities which come in the way of river water flow. The Helpline 1129 has also been set up and the affectees can immediately contact on it.
This was stated by Senior Advisor to Chief Minister Zulfiqar Khosa at a meeting held here on Friday to review arrangements for controlling flood. Prisons Minister Malik Iqbal Chanar, Special Assistant to Chief Minister Mansha Ullah Butt and other officials concerned were present in the meeting.
