168 consumers fined for electricity theft

The Lahore Electric Supply Company (Lesco) has detected 168 consumers in different areas of the City involved in electricity theft and charged them a fine of about Rs1.5 million, said a statement issued by Lesco on Tuesday. The consumers were caught red-handed while stealing electricity through direct lines during a raid of the Lesco team, the statement added. The theft had been detected in the areas of Badian Road, Hamza Town and GOR Sub-division, said the statement.
