LAHORE – PML-N MNA Mian Marghoob Ahmad and MPA Mehr Ishtiaq Ahmad have assured the residents of Sabzazar that the Qabza mafia will not be allowed to continue its illegal business activities on the vacant plots in D-Block of the scheme.

A grand operation would soon be launched to remove illegal bus stands and workshops on these plots, said the PML-N leaders while speaking to members of the Sabzazar Welfare Society (SWS), which met the other day with its President Saeed Aasi in the chair.
During the meeting, Saeed Aasi, SWS Secretary General Muhammad Afzal Kan and others informed Mian Marghoob and Mehr Ishtiaq about the problems being faced by the residents of the scheme.
They expressed serious concern over the illegal business activities of the Qabza mafia and bus owners after the shifting of cattle market and slaughterhouse from this site to Shahpur Kanjran. They said the pedestrians were facing serious difficulties because no room was left for their movement after buses and other transport occupy the roads.
“Encouraged by the act of bus owners, others have illegally set up motor workshops in the Scheme; while in D-Block area, salt factories and others have started illegally businesses,” they told the parliamentarians who directed the Iqbal Town TMO to ensure removal of all encroachments within a week and present a report.
Mian Marghoob informed the meeting that the land for the graveyard for C and D Blocks of the Scheme and Babu Sabu had been acquired, while approval had been granted for the development of greenbelt-cum-park from E-Block of the Scheme to Power Station. “The director general of Wasa has also been directed to solve sewerage problems in the Scheme on priority basis,” he added.
The MPs also lauded efforts of the SWS for the removal of the slaughterhouse and cattle market from that site. On this occasion, Mian Margoob also announced nomination of SWS Vice President Muhammad Arshad as PML-N Coordinator for C, D and E blocks of the scheme.
