Busy on cell, trader crushed to death by train

LAHORE – A 35-year-old garments’ trader was crushed to death under a train in the Naseerabad area, police said on Tuesday.

The deceased, later identified as Muhammad Attique, a resident of Sahiwal district, was crossing the railway line in the Naseerabad area when a Lahore-bound train hit him from the rear side, resulting in his on-the-spot death.
Eyewitnesses told the police that the deceased was listening to a call on his cellular phone when the train hit him. The police have notified the deceased family.
The investigators said that the ID card recovered from the pocket of the deceased help police establish his identity. The police also recovered Rs 6000 from his pocket.
