PML-N’s demand to remove governors is absurd: Wattoo

Federal minister for Kashmir Affairs and Gilgit-Baltistan PPP Punjab President and Manzoor Ahmed Wattoo Monday said the decision by Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) to stage a sit-in is an interference in the provincial autonomy.

Addressing a press conference herein Lahore, he said the party that declared Dr Tahirul Qadri’s sit-in unconstitutional, has itself brought a sit-in resolution, adding, “I hope the N-League will review its decision to stage a sit-in.”
The PML-N, he added, demands the sacking of governors, adding that the demand is ridiculous as the governor is not an executive authority -- it is chief minister, instead.”
“The governor will not have an executive authority even in the caretaker set-up,” he further said.
The PPP leader said the PML-N is sincere with neither South Punjab nor Bahawalpur and in contrast, the PPP is serious and sincere with the establishment of the province, adding that it is very difficult for the people of Rajanpur to come to Lahore for resolution of their problems.
