Punjab division on ethnic basis unacceptable: Nawaz

Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) President Mian Nawaz Sharif on Monday said that his party would not accept the creation of new provinces in Punjab on the basis of ethnicity or hatred.

Speaking at party’s consultative meeting here in Lahore, Nawaz Sharif backed the creation of new provinces in line with a resolution passed by the provincial assembly.
He said that Punjab’s division should be carried out on administrative basis.
The federal government, he felt, was chanting the slogan of Punjab’s division on political grounds. Bahawalpur province is the voice of people, he commented.
