Cops get cash, certificates for nabbing criminals

LAHORE – Two proclaimed offenders (POs) were arrested by Manga Mandi and Sattukatla police on Wednesday; while SP Saddar Division has announced cash prizes and commendatory certificates for both the SHOs who headed the respective police teams.
As per police reports, a proclaimed offender Muhammad Riaz, son of Basheer, resident of Jambar Kalan, Kasur, was arrested by a police team headed by SHO Manga Mandi and ASI Muhammad Ashraf after hectic efforts.
Similarly, another proclaimed offender Ghulam Farid, son of Abdul Rasheed, resident of Pir Ghazi Road, Pakpattan, was arrested by a police team headed by SHO Sattukatla and ASI Muhammad Shakeel.
Meanwhile, SP (Operations) Saddar Division Captain Liaqat Ali Malik has awarded cash prizes and commendatory certificates to SHOs and other subordinates on intensifying crackdown against proclaimed offenders and other criminals.
Those who were awarded cash prizes included: SHO Sattukatla Inspector Kashif Khaleel, SHO Chung Inspector Qamar Abbas, SHO Sabzazaar Inspector Hasnain Haider, SHO Sundar Inspector Mustanser Khan, SHO Raiwind Inspector Mazhar Iqbal and SHO Green Town Zahid Shah; Sub-Inspectors Arshad Ali, Gulzaar Ahmed, Abdul Sattar, Muhammad Mansha, Abdul Jabaar, Muhammad Sadiq and Riaz Ahmed; Assistant Sub-Inspectors Liaqat Ali, Rizwan Ali, Najam Abbasi and Muhammad Ijaz; Head Constables Muhammad Abbas, Javed, Waseem and Khalid Ali; and Constables Muhammad Abid, Muhammad Shahbaz, Muhammad Waqas, Mujahid-ul-Hassan, Nadeem Hussain, Muhammad Rafiq, Zeeshan, Sarfaraz, Muhammad Tahir, Raza Khan, Aamir Shahzad, Saeed Qadir, Khadim Hussain, Shakeel Ahmed and Azhar Nadeem. Also, Lahore DIG (Operations) on Wednesday awarded punishment of different natures to seven officers including an inspector, a head constable and a constable on the charges of corruption.
ASI DISMISSED: The DIG (Operations) dismissed from service a Trainee Assistant Sub-Inspector Waqar Afzal for keeping four people in illegal detention, subjecting them to severe torture and releasing them after receiving monetary benefits. The aforesaid officer had incriminated the innocent people in an armed robbery and subjected them to severe torture to appease their opponents.
The others who have been awarded punishments include: Inspector Khalid Mahmood; Sub-Inspectors Iftikhar Ahmad, Ishtiaq Ahmad, Rafiullah, Mohammad Aslam and Mohammad Asif; Head Constable Samar Abbas; and Constable Tariq Iqbal.
