LAHORE – Three constables of Racecourse Police were dismissed from service on charges of receiving bribe from a citizen on Wednesday.
SP Omer Saeed said that the dismissed constables Muhammad Ramazan, Taqi and another cop had arrested one Muhammad Waseem and recovered a bottle of liquor from his possession. Later, they received Rs10,000 from Waseem and allowed him to go.
But, afterwards the same citizen submitted an application with the office of SP Civil Lines and levelled allegation of bribery against the cops.
During departmental inquiry, the constables were found guilty of the charge, on which the SP Civil Lines dismissed them from service.
