WHO launches Rabies Control Programme

LAHORE – In an effort to strengthen national and provincial programmes for dog-bite and rabies control, the World Health Organization (WHO) – in collaboration with the Punjab Health Department – has launched a Rabies Control Programme in the country.
The main features of the programme are inter-sectoral collaboration between health and veterinary departments, local governments, and municipal authorities to control the population of dogs, especially stray dogs, the main source of dog bites.
