LAHORE – North Cantonment Police have booked Camp Jail Superintendent and Deputy Superintendent and three other persons on charges of facilitating a culprit, who had attacked another prisoner on Saturday. Sources said that a prisoner Ali Nawaz alias Bhola was attacked by Abdul Waheed Butt by a sharp blade in lockups at Cantonment Court on Saturday morning.
The victim had alleged that Camp Jail Superintendent Ijaz Asghar had facilitated the accused Butt of providing blade. On Sunday, sources said, the North Cantonment police lodged an FIR against five persons on the statement of Ahmed Nawaz, brother of the victim. Police concerned, however, is reluctant to arrest the Superintendent Jail and his Deputy Superintendent. Further investigations are underway.
