PM urges all political parties to work together for strengthening country

Prime Minister Raja Pervez Ashraf has urged all the political parties to shun off their differences and work together for strengthening the country.

Talking to a group of senior editors in Lahore on Saturday‚ he said on its part Pakistan People's Party is committed to avoid politics of confrontation.
He said we want to focus on resolving national issues and problems through mutual consultation.
The Prime Minister hoped the Opposition will respond positively to his offer about consultation over the appointment of Chief Election Commissioner.
Raja Pervez Ashraf said steps have been taken to attract maximum foreign investment in the country and these efforts have already shown positive results. He said an-inter-provincial meeting will soon be convened to discuss necessary preventive measures in view of the upcoming monsoon rains.
He said the Provincial Governments have been directed to take all possible steps on war-footings to face any eventuality.
The Prime Minister said that the journalist's community being opinion makers should also play their due role in strengthening democratic system and to tackle the challenges confronting the nation.
The group of senior editors with whom the Prime Minister had an interaction included Saleem Bukhari‚ Mujeeb ur Rehman Shami‚ Arif Nizami‚ Zia Shahid‚ P.J. Mir‚ Rehmat Ali Razi and Shah Bano Taseer.
Punjab Governor Sardar Latif Khan Khosa and Information Minister‚ Qamar Zaman Kaira were also present in the meeting.
