LAHORE – The Punjab health secretary has released a grant of Rs3.25 million for the rehabilitation of a tubewell at the Lahore General Hospital to overcome the water crisis.
Postgraduate Medical Institute and Lahore General Hospital Principal Prof Anjum Habib Vohra said the 85 horse power turbine already installed for the tubewell would be upgraded to 150 horse power.
He said the new tank would have the storage capacity of 0.1 million gallon water, and the Punjab Communication and Works Department would complete the project on a priority basis. “The existing water tank has the storage capacity of 50,000 gallon and is insufficient to meet the hospital’s needs,” he added.
