LAHORE – Punjab Rangers spokesman claimed on Thursday to have arrested a smuggler after exchange of fire and seized 34 bottles Indian Liquor, a motorcycle and a bicycle on Thursday.
He said three smugglers managed to escape towards Indian side getting benefit of darkness. Spokesman claimed that Rangers officials received secrete information that certain smugglers would try to smuggle liquor into Pakistan from Indian side on Thursday night due to which Rangers Jawans were alert on duty.
Rangers established a picket in the said border area and enhanced patrolling there. At night four people entered in the Pakistani limits and to whom Rangers Jawans challenged them on which they opened fire on Rangers Jawans. During retaliatory firing three accused managed to escape towards Indian side while one was arrested.
Above said things were recovered from their luggage which they left while escaping.
