LAHORE – Two more babies died of the measles in the provincial metropolis on Wednesday, while the death toll climbs to five.
One-year-old Zubair succumbed to measles at the Children Hospital, while a five-year old baby girl Eman died of measles at the Mayo Hospital.
Earlier, three children had also died due to the disease during the current month in the city.
Meanwhile, over 38 more measles-related cases surfaced and the affected babies were shifted to various hospitals of the City. Young Doctors Association Punjab (YDA) in a statement criticising the provincial government for failing to deal with the epidemic announced to move to the Lahore High Court against the provincial rulers over the issue of deaths of babies.  They added that the provincial government was dealing with the matter instead of declaring epidemic emergency relating to the disease in the province.
