Workers awarded cash prizes in anti-dengue drive

LAHORE – Punjab government has awarded cash prizes worth Rs160, 000 and appreciation certificates to employees of different towns of Lahore for their outstanding services during a clearing campaign in the graveyards of the provincial capital in an anti-dengue drive.
Secretary Local Govt. Khizar Hayat Gondal had announced cash awards for the union councils on the basis of their performance during the clearing campaign in graveyards. A number of initiatives were taken by Local Government Department to curb dengue virus and its growth spots in graveyards were wiped out through clearing and grubbing campaign.
Secretary Local Government himself monitored the campaign and constituted a committee to evaluate cleanliness in 275 graveyards falling in 150 Union Councils of Lahore. Cash awards and appreciation certificates were given on the recommendations of a committee.
Chief Minister Punjab had lauded the efforts of the employees of Local Government Department and directed to award them cash awards
A function was arranged at Local Govt. Complex in which Abdul Salam, Secretary Union Council No. 59 was awarded Rs10, 000 in individual capacity and Rs5, 000 for best team work. A cash award of Rs10, 000 was given to Shehzad Qureshi, Tehsil Officer Regulation, Aziz Bhatti Town for impressive cleanliness in Bahar Shah Graveyard, Faisal Town while Khalid Mehmood, Secretary Union Council No. 56 was awarded Rs10, 000 in individual capacity and Rs5, 000 as best team work for cleanliness in Haji Shah Phool Pir Graveyard. In Union Council 41, Khalid Mehmood, Secretary Union Council, was awarded with Rs10, 000 in individual capacity and Rs5, 000 as best teamwork
Harbanspura Graveyard. In Shalimar Town, Mr. Musharaf, Secretary Union Council No. 16 was awarded with Rs10, 000 for impressive cleanliness in Madni Graveyard, Gujjar Pura while Masoom Khan, Secretary Union Council No. 04 was awarded with Rs10, 000 for impressive cleanliness in Sharif Bokhari Graveyard in Ravi Town. In Nishtar Town, Sikandar Hayat, Secretary Union Council No. 140 was awarded Rs5, 000 and Rs5, 000 to Rana Muhammad Ashraf, Tehsil Officer Regulation, with appreciation certificate for cleanliness in Factory Area Graveyard.
In Samanabad Town, Faisal Butt, Secretary Union Council No. 103 was awarded Rs5, 000 and Rs5, 000 were awarded to Amir Ashfaq, Tehsil Officer Regulation, with an appreciation certificate for cleanliness in Shah Mushaiq Graveyard, Pakki Thati. In Wahga Town, Mr. Shakeel, Secretary Union Council No. 39 was awarded Rs5, 000 while Rs5, 000 were awarded to Anwar Ahmad, Tehsil Officer Regulation, along with appreciation certificate for cleanliness in Momin Pura Graveyard.

d, Shadipura. In Iqbal Town, Mr. Aqeel, Secretary Union Council No. 112 was awarded Rs5, 000 while Rs5, 000 were given to Zeeshan Munir, Tehsil Officer Regulation, along with appreciation certificate for cleanliness in Sabzazar Graveyard.
In Gulberge Town, Akmal Mehmood, Secretary Union Council No. 32 was awarded Rs5, 000 while Rs5, 000 was given to Faisal Shehzad, Tehsil Officer Regulation, along with appreciation certificate for cleanliness in Dars Chotay Mian Graveyard. In Data Ganj Bakhash Town, Mr. Rizwan, Secretary Union Council No. 70 was awarded Rs5, 000 while Rs5, 000 were awarded to Ehsan Zaidi, Tehsil Officer Regulation, along with appreciation certificate for cleanliness in Masoomeen Graveyard, Gunj Kalan.
In Ravi Town, Abdul Ghafoor, Secretary Union Council No. 7 was awarded Rs5, 000 while Rs5, 000 were awarded to Muhammad Akram, Tehsil Officer Regulation, along with appreciation certificate for cleanliness in Pindi Wala  Graveyard, Near Shahdara. In Salimar Town, Tazeem Hussain, Secretary Union Council No. 36 was awarded Rs5, 000 while Rs5, 000 were awarded to Sohail Ashraf, Tehsil Officer Regulation, along with appreciation certificate for cleanliness in Shah Abdul Ghani Graveyard, Baghbanpura and in Cantt Area, Khalid Mehmood, Secretary Union Council No. 41 was awarded Rs5, 000 and Shehzad Qureshi was given appreciation certificate for cleanliness in Muhammad Road Graveyard. Secretary Local Government Board Rizwan Asharaf gave cash prizes to the employees. Deputy Secretary Local Govt. Saman Rai, Deputy Secretary Local Govt. Qadir Ahmad Bajwa and District Officer Community Development Zulfiqar Ahmad were also present at this occasion.
