The annual examination of nursery to grade four students were held in the respective primary schools in the second week of March, said an ESED official. He said that the district elementary and secondary education department had prepared uniformed question papers for the students of the entire district who appeared in the examinations of nursery class to grade four.
He maintained that Assistant District Officer Meenakhel Circle Abdul Rehman Rashid was appointed as controller of examination for primary schools’ annual examinations. “ADOs and senior teachers performed as supervisors to ensure conducting the examination in a transparent and peaceful environment”, he told.
The official further told that the students of grade five and eight appeared in the annual examination held in the nearest high and higher secondary schools. He said that the headmasters and principals of high and higher secondary schools compiled the results of grade five and eight examinations and sent it to the headmasters of concerned primary and middle schools to announce the same on result announcement day.
ESED deputy district officer Rehmatullah Khan told this correspondent that the students of primary schools performed well in the annual examinations. He said that the department also held a district level competitive examination for the students of grade four on March 30 to choose excellent students for special awards. He said that awards distribution ceremony would be held next week wherein the grade four students with outstanding performance as well as best teachers and headmasters of primary schools would get merit certificates and cash prizes.
