FEROZWALA - The police on Tuesday booked 715 unidentified people and 35 nominated accused of torching state property - Wapda grid station, police van and motorcycles - during the violent protest against loadshedding. On Sunday, people took to the streets against 18 hours loadshedding and blocked traffic on GT Road for four hours. Police claimed to have arrested five rioters, identified as Hanif, Anwar, Ilyas, Munir and Shah Muhammad. The Syed Wala police booked 200 people, including 30 nominated accused of burning an SDO office. However, no arrest was made till filing of this report.  Two people allegedly strangulated a ninth class student in village Balkhe. Qaisar and Moqqadam abducted the student when he was returning from his tuition centre. Later, the criminal took the boy to a field and strangulated him after sexual abuse. Police were looking into the matter. A teen drowned in the upper Chenab canal. Rescuers retrieved the body. The deceased was named as Arshad, a resident of Mor Joyanwala.
