Police officials said that Qadir Zehri a PML-N provincial leader was attacked by armed men riding a motorbike who opened indiscriminate firing on his vehicle at Sakran Road. Resultantly, he and his two bodyguards received multiple bullet wounds and died on the spot.
Police rushed to the site soon after the incident and moved the body to nearby hospital for medico-legal formalities.
“The incident appears to be a case of target killing”,a police official said ,adding, that investigation into the incident was underway to unearth real motives behind the killing.
No group has claimed responsibility for the attack till filing of this report.
