245 booked for bashing raiding police party

KOT RADHA KISHAN - A case has been registered against 145 people besides unknown 100 others with Kot Radha Kishan police station on the charge of beating up and abusing a raiding party at village Bhambha Khurd, sources said. 

They added that Sub-Inspector Muhammad Younas of Green Town Lahore police along with his subordinates conducted a raid on village to arrest suspect Muhammad Kashif who is wanted by the police in a dacoity cases. The police met with Muhammad Akram alias Thanedar and asked about his brother-in-law Kashif, but he instead of cooperating with the police started abusing them and called his relatives including his wife Sajida, Nanhi, daughter of Majeed, Arzo armed with knives, Imtiaz, Younas, Akram, Aslam and many others who thrashed the policemen and also pelted stones on them. Moreover, the people also tried to set ablaze the official vehicle, but the injured driver managed to save the vehicle and informed the police force, police sources said.
Meanwhile, the sources added, the people also snatched cash, 2 pistols and cell phones from the policemen. All the police officials were injured. Later, a heavy contingent of police of Kot Radha Kishan headed by SHO Haji Muhammad Akram rushed to the spot and rescued their colleagues.
When contacted, the SHO said that some arrests have been made and further investigation in underway.
