HAFIZABAD - Some public-spirited persons installed about six hand pumps on the bank of Qila Ram Kour Canal to provide cold and uncontaminated water to the citizens but influential landlord, who is also a government servant made them non-functional due to unknown reasons.

According to sources, some God-fearing people had installed six hand pumps to facilitate the people to get pure and cold water but an Officer of the Environment Department namely Naseem Ahmad who is also an influential landlord of Qila Ram Kour has made these hand-pumps non-functional by removing some parts of these pumps.
“Our society needs such open-hearted people who are willing to facilitate the people through their own means. It is now government responsibility to facilitate the government-public partnership for such projects.
The citizens have demanded action against the responsible officer for removing the pumps and demanded restoration of the facility.
