QUAIDABAD - The crime ratio in tehsil Quaidabad soared in 2011, it has been learnt.
Reportedly, as many as 300 cases were registered in 2010, while 314 cases were registered last year. 14 people were killed in tehsil, out of which 5 persons including 3 women, were slaughtered in the name of honour.
The police registered 9 cases of murder, 38 cases of carrying illegal weapons and seized one Kalashnikov, 6 rifles, 11 guns and 28 bullets. As many as 35 cases related to drugs were also registered, while 9,923 grams of opium and 557 bottles of liquor were recovered. In 16 cases, 32 accused were arrested and Rs70,000 of gambling money were seized. The police also nabbed 75 wanted criminals.
