OKARA - Federal Minister for Kashmir Affairs and Gilgit-Baltistan Manzoor Ahmed Wattoo said that the National Assembly, by electing Raja Pervaiz Ashraf as prime minister shattered the dreams of goosy and opportunist politicians.

The Federal minister for Kashmir Affairs and Gilgit-Baltistan said the so-called national leaders fled abroad fearing of cases and jails, but Pakistan People’s Party was the custodian of democratic system, constitution and the people.
Manzoor Wattoo pointed out that Shaheed Benazir Bhutto sacrificed her life for democracy, supremacy of the constitution and poor people, adding that she was prevented from returning Pakistan but instead of staying in exile, she fought the case for the judiciary and poor people by confronting a dictator.
He said Shaheed Benazir Bhutto got status of a martyr and was asleep in peace in Garhi Khuda Bakhsh but she left behind her a program for the welfare of poor women of the country.
He said millions of families were benefiting from the programme.
In Depalpur Tehsil alone, about 14,000 families are getting stipends, while another 20,000 families are being included in the program and payments will be made to them within the next two months, he observed.
Before Manzoor Wattoo’s address, Divisional Director BISP, Muhammad Irfan and Assistant Director, Depalpur, Mian Hassan Mehmood Wattoo briefed the audience about BISP.
