Protest against power, gas outages

MARDAN - Hundred of residents of Mayar village located about 7 kilometers south from Mardan city took out a protest rally on Friday against the long and unannounced loadshedding of electricity and Sui gas.
The protesters, holding sticks in their hands, were chanting slogans against Pesco, SNGPL high-ups and federal and provincial governments.
They were approaching to attack the Pesco and SNGPL offices, however, the police force deployed on Shamsi Road in front of Mardan Press Club (MPC) attempted to stop but they failed and the protestors that led to police baton-charge.
Meanwhile, the police high-ups called Pesco and Sui Gas high-ups to reach the spot. Later, they police succeeded in controlling the charged protestors.
In front of TMA office on Shamshi road the rally changed into protest meeting.  Addressing to the protesters, speakers strongly condemned the long duration and unannounced loadshedding of electricity and Sui gas in the area.  Later, XCN-I Pesco Mardan came there and briefed them that a fault had was occurred in the grade station due to which the Pesco authorities was forced to do loadshedding in some areas but now the fault had been plugged.
