KARACHI - The Chief of Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) Altaf Hussain has felicitated the people of Sindh and Pakistan on the approval of the Local Government Ordinance (LGO) 2012 in the Sindh Assembly.In a statement, he paid rich tributes to President Asif Ali Zardari, Prime Minster Raja Pervaiz Ashraf, Governor Sindh Dr Ishrat-ul-Ebad, Chief Minister Sindh Qaim Ali Shah and Parliamentarians of PPP and MQM on their efforts for preparing and approval of the LGO 2012. He further said that the approval of this bill is victory for Sindh and the people of Pakistan. This Ordinance is the true spirit of democracy which will transfer the power to grass root level and solve the problems of the poor people, he said.He said that different countries of the world have already promulgated this Local Bodies system which brought them in list of well developed countries.Meanwhile, MQM Coordination Committee condemned the nationalists strike call to oppose the approval of the LGO. In another statement, Coordination Committee said that nationalists seek to destabilise Sindh and also sabotage the peace of the City on the directives of the establishment.
