NANKANA SAHIB - The PPP-led Federal government has dropped another bomb on the already sobbing masses by jacking up the prices of petroleum products.
They alleged that the current government was carrying out its personal agenda aimed at prolonging its stay at the helm of affairs, adding that the corrupt rulers had nothing to do with the welfare and prosperity of the masses. They alleged that the rulers had no interest to control the prices of essentials.
They expressed their astonishment that on the one hand the rulers had destroyed the national institutions and economy through rampant corruption while on the other they were making claims of victory and another stunt for the next five years.
The people regretted the rulers had pushed the poor masses to such a point that they would never forget them for causing colossal losses to the country. The PPP-led federal government and its allies including PML-Q, MQM, ANP and others must bear n the mind that this country belongs to the masses and they know how to guard its sovereignty and integrity," they concluded.
People curse govt for power outages: Expressing concern over the consistent power shortage and loadshedding in the holy month of Ramazan‚ President Zardari had directed the relevant ministries and departments to make coordinated efforts to end unscheduled loadshedding. Even then, unscheduled loadshedding is getting prolonged with the passage of each day and people are sick and tired of continuous power cuts that are continuing in the city just like other parts of the country. People are helpless at the hands of govt, which has literally failed to provide any relief to public by providing them with power restoration. In connection with these power outages, the residents of Kamoke blocked the GT road for hours and demanded the concerned officials to register their complaints against unscheduled loadshedding.
The residents, including women and children, were holding placards that read 'We want light', 'Restore electricity'.
, 'Light is power' and 'Give us some relief'.
The residents staged a sit-in outside Gepco office, blocked the road and shouted slogans against unscheduled loadshedding.
They said that they could not even sleep at night and becoming psychic patients due to loadshedding. But ruling elite did not take any notice. The people could only protest but rules did not bother and enjoying their tenure. While criticising the PPP-led government that said that Zardari once said democracy to the best revenge, he was take up revenge from the nation. After BB murder the hole nation gave him the pride but in return he delivered bad governess poverty, loadshedding and corrupt ministers, they added.
They said that they could not continue with their daily chores, water shortage and sleepless nights have become the norm of the day due to unscheduled loadshedding. "We have given five-day deadline to the authorities concerned for putting an end to unscheduled loadshedding otherwise our next stop will be to block the main GT Road," they said.
