SIALKOT - The federal budget announced by the federal government for the fiscal year 2012-2013 again disappointed the Sialkot business community as the government did not announce any relief or incentives for industries and small and medium enterprises here.

Tax Bar Association President Muhammad Akram Raza said that the government has again given a lollypop of promises as the government has increased its targets. He said that due to the ground realities, it would not be possible for the government to achieve these targets.
Markazi Anjuman Tajran President Haji Mehar Ghulam Mujtaba rejected the budget and said that the big chunk of Rs70 billion allocated for the Benazir Income Support Programme in this budget should be allocated for curbing the menace of power loadshedding and for giving maximum relief to the nation.

The PML-N MNAs from Sialkot district Khawaja Muhammad Asif, Rana Abdul Sattar, Sahibazada Syed Murtaza Ameen and Zahid Hamid termed the budget nothing more than a jugglery of the words, saying that the budget will prove economical murder of the masses, depending upon the foreign aids. “The government has thrown the poor people into an ocean of hunger and poverty through this budget,” they added. However, local PPP leaders termed the budget people-friendly.
