15 killed, 22 injured in Kohistan road accident

 At least 15 persons including six security personnel, two women and three children were killed and 22 others injured when a passenger bus plunged into a ravine here in Kohistan on Thursday morning.

According to Khalid Khan Umarzai, administrator of Hazara Division, a Gilgit bound passenger bus coming from Rawalpindi got out of control of driver due to over speeding and fell into a gorge by roadside in Komeela area of Kohistan.
As a result of accident 13 persons including six security personnel were killed on the spot while 24 other sustained injuries. Two people succumbed to injuries later increasing the death toll to 15. The injured included 13 security personnel. The locals and police reached the scene of the accident and helped in rescue activities.
The injured were shifted to local hospital from where seriously injured persons were referred to Mansehra.
Most of the deceased and injured belonged to Gilgit-Baltistan (GB).
