Delivering a telephonic address to the workers of Tehreek Tahaffuz Pakistan who gathered at Multan Press Club, Dr Khan added that the situation was fast moving towards disintegration of the country like n the past. He asserted that a new, honest, eligible and dedicated leadership was imperative for the existence, security and stability of the country. He pointed out that the poor were even deprived of food and it was sign of a horrible destruction.
He stressed upon the masses, especially youth, to play their role for bringing change in political regime. “You must elect honest leadership. I’d ask the representatives of media to play their role for change too,” he added. He said that the youth could play a key role in the process of change. He asked politicians to shun their differences and step forward to save the country.
CANCER HOSPITAL INAUGURATION: Additional Secretary at Prime Minister Secretariat Syed Iftikhar Babar has disclosed that Cancer Hospital Multan will be inaugurated during the ongoing month.
Chairing a meeting of officers from different government departments here at Commissioner Office on Wednesday, Mr Babar added that initially the basic building of the hospital will be inaugurated while work for the completion of the project will continue. He said that development projects worth billions were launched under Prime Minister Package with the financial collaboration of provincial government. “The motive behind launching these projects is to eliminate sense of deprivation from this region,” he added. He stressed upon all concerned departments to ensure transparency in execution of all projects and get them completed within deadlines.
He said that the Punjab Government released all funds, expressing his hope that all projects would be completed within ongoing financial year. He said that the Northern and Southern by-passes were in final phases of their completion while Multan International Airport would be made functional by December 31. He directed the representatives of all construction companies to remove debris from the work sites with a view to preventing citizens from inconvenience. He asked different departments like MDA, WASA, WAPDA, Sui Gas and PTCL to improve the level of coordination. He warned that no delaying tactics would be tolerated.
Briefing the meeting, the Commissioner Multan division Muhammad Khurram Agha said that work on Jinnah Chowk, Rasheedabad and Nag Shah flyovers was underway at full pace and funds were received for these projects. He said that work was underway in double shifts on Bosan Road expansion project and all out efforts were being made to complete this project till September 28 deadline. He said that Moosa Pak Shaheed bridge was also 95 per cent complete while Qadirpur-Tatypur Road would be completed till June 30.
