QUETTA - Condemning the ongoing operation in Lyari, Jamhoori Watan Party chief Nawabzada Talal Akbar Bugti has said the Sindh government took the action to appease its allies.“The PPP government started massacre of Balochs,” he told a press conference on Wednesday. The JWP chief said Balochs were the natives of Karachi as it was mostly comprised of Baloch population before the creation of Pakistan. However, he said the people who had been welcomed by Balochs were plotting against them. He regretted the Lyari people were without foodstuff due to the ongoing gang war but the government had been dragging its feet over the matter.“The JWP will not leave innocent Balochs in the lurch,” he added. He urged Balochs to forge unity to fight injustice to them and said the JWP was in contact with Baloch leaders in Lyari and assured them of his complete support. He said he had contacted Balochistan National Party leader Akthar Mengal and other Baloch nationalist leaders over the issue. Talal took a swipe at Prime Minster Yousuf Raza Gilani for his defiance in writing to Swiss authorities to pursue corruption cases against President Asif Ali Zardari. He demanded end to operation in Lyari and concerted efforts to curb targeted killing.
