BAHAWALPUR - Islamia University Bahawalpur Vice Chancellor Dr Muhammad Mukhtar presided 38th meeting of the Academic Council here at Abbasia Campus the other day.

During the meeting, the IUB Academic Council approved opening of new departments including Pakistan Studies at main campus, Islamic Studies at Bahawalnagar and Rahim Yar Khan campuses and Forestry Range and Wild Life Management at University Agriculture College.
The members approved the academic calendar to ensure uniform standards for teaching and examinations in all departments across the campuses.
New syllabus for PhD in Computer Science and MPhil in Pharmacy, Pakistan Studies and Urdu besides various levels of Applied Psychology, Economics and Mathematics were also discussed.
New rules for admissions and hostel accommodation were also approved.
Senior faculty members, teaching heads, Registrar, Controller Examinations and Director Campuses attended the meeting.
