LALAMUSA - PML-N District President Malik Hanif Awan following differences with provincial party leadership and cold attitude of district administration towards him has resigned from PML-N District Gujrat Presidentship. He sent his resignation to PML-N Provincial President Shahbaz Sharif. While taking to newsmen here at Sara-e-Alamgir, he said that he would remain with the party as a worker. He further said that he served the PML-N as District President for the last 12 years and utilised all his energies to strengthen the party in district. But, now the party leadership is ignoring him, he added. It has been learnt that he was ignored by the party high-ups in all matters for the last two years which frustrated him and prompted his resignation. According to independent political observers of district the resignation of Malik Hanif Awan may damage party position in the district. Work in TMA office standstill: Following the registration of corruption cases against key officials of the Gujrat TMA, all the official work has come to almost standstill. The TMA employees salaries have been hindered, causing resentment among employees as other officials are reluctant to work on the posts of TMA officials who have been arrested by anti-corruption establishment on charges of corruption.No substitute officials were instantly available to TMA thus causing disarray in the office. It may be recalled that at the report of TMO Gujrat, the anti-corruption establishment has registered corruption cases against 14-officials including auditor, SDO, Sub-Engineer, Auditor and Xen who are undergoing investigation. The situation has created a chaos and it is feared that if the substitute officials are not immediately appointed things may get worst.
