JUI-F gives three-point plan to end gov rule

QUETTA - Efforts are gaining momentum for ending the governor rule in Balochistan and restoring dismissed government as JUI-F’s leader Muhammad Khan Sherani has presented a three point formula to steer Balochistan out of current political crisis.

According to sources, PML-Q chief Chaudhary Shujaat Hussain, who called on Sherani on Saturday in Islamabad, would present his formula to Prime Minister Raja Pervaiz Asharaf on Monday (today).
Sources said that Sherani has purposed giving the chief ministership to PML-Q or PPP while JUI-F would sit on opposition benches. The second option was that CM-ship be given to JUI-F while PML-Q and PPP should sit on the opposition benches, and the third point says if Raisani Government is restored he (Sherani) would guarantee that Nawab Aslam Raisani would tender his resignation within a week.
Sources said that after presentation of this 3-pronged proposal from JUI-F leader, political parties had started negotiations and were contacting each other.
“It has been proposed that President Asif Ali Zardari, Chaudhari Shujaat Hussain and Asfandyar Wali would jointly make the final decision,” they added.
But different Shia organisations have warned of carrying out countrywide protests if governor rule was withdrawn from Balochistan.
PM Raja Pervaiz Asharaf on January 14 had imposed governor rule in Balochistan after Hazara Shia community staged a four-day sit-in along with 86 coffins of Alamdar Road bombings victims and demanded for dismissal of Raisani-led government and imposition of governor’s rule in the province.
More than 100 people were killed in two bombings on Jan 10 in Quetta that led to Raisani’s highly irresponsible and inefficient government.
