LAKKI MARWAT - Taking serious notice of teachers showing up late for schools, ASDEO Primary Abdul Rehman has sought explanation from latecomers and directed the heads of schools to ensure attendance of teaching and non-teaching staff in their respective institutions. During surprise inspection visits to several boys’ primary schools in Lakki on Thursday, Rehman checked the attendance of teachers and expressed annoyance over the late coming of teachers to the schools. He visited primary schools in Meenakhel, Hamidabad, Bilal and Mujahid towns of Lakki city.In some schools teachers were not present even after holding of morning assemblies while several teachers came late to the school. The ASDEO said that absence, late coming and violation of discipline were intolerable acts and could not be tolerated at all. He asked the latecomers and truant teachers to explain their position as why they could not reach their schools on time and why disciplinary action should not be initiated against them. He directed the headmasters to implement school timings in letter and spirit and ensure presence of watchmen in their respective schools at night duty.“Besides students should be advised not take any thing from any stranger on their way to school from home”, he maintained. He told that officials of district administration and police and education departments would check the presence of watchmen in schools at night duty. “The absent watchmen will face strict disciplinary action”, he added.Water supply scheme launchedMNA Humayun Saifullah Khan has said that his family always kept the welfare and uplift of area people on top of priorities and made sincere efforts for bringing the district at par with other developed parts of the province.This he said while speaking at a public meeting after inaugurating a water supply scheme in Mohallah Sadarkhel of union council Abakhel on Thursday. Head of Marwat Qaumi Jirga Haji Aslam Khan Eesakkhel, influential Saifullahs’ coordinator Ameer Mashal Khan and elders also accompanied him on the occasion.The lawmaker said that work on installation of pressure pumps was underway and completion of the project in water supply sector would help to provide clean drinking water to the residents of locality. He said that he and his brothers Salim Saifullah Khan and Anwar Saifullah Khan were in contact with the higher authorities of Sui Northern Gas Pipeline Limited (SNGPL) for the provision of natural gas facility to Abakhel, Kakkakhel, Dallokhel and other villages and hamlets.He said work on the approved project of Aba Shaheed power feeder would soon begin that would rid the residents of Abakhel union councils from load shedding and low voltage problems. He called upon the people to back Saifullah brothers in coming elections so that the journey of brining uplift and progress to the district could be kept continued.Earlier, Saifullah visited the residence of a police constable Muhammad Akram Khan in Zangikhel village to condole the death of his father. He expressed his deep grief over the sad demise and prayed to Allah Almighty to rest his soul in eternal peace.
