PESHAWAR – A three-day training workshop organised by Women Business Development Centre (WBDC) aimed to enhance basic skills of potential women entrepreneurs regarding recycling of papers.More than 20 women entrepreneurs, including members of Youth Entrepreneurs Development Forum took part in the training session. The Project Manager, Ms Nabela Farman formally inaugurated the workshop here at WBDC. Ms Fauzia Butt, Assistant Coordinator, Pakistan Institute for Environment Development Action Research (PIEDAR) trained the participants about basic techniques of recycling papers. The training workshop kept focus on practical work to develop skilled women entrepreneurs. The participants were trained about making bowls, glass, plates, bags, gift boxes and other items through papers. The participants appreciated the effort of the WBDC for arranging such a creative artwork training programme. Earlier, Ms Nabela while addressing the inaugural session said that WBDC has designed a comprehensive programme for the skill development of young female entrepreneurs on various arts and crafts. She added that efforts were being made to promote women entrepreneurship through platform of WBDC. The training program of recycling of papers has much significant in term of a profitable and environment friendly business, she said and urged the young female to concentrate on obtaining basic techniques and skills during the session. “Women have immense potential to engage in various businesses and compete at every platform through different diverse form of skills, and there was mere need to provide them a conducive environment to promote their handicraft and develop linkages, she said.
