Eight killed as another van plunges into ravine in Kahuta

At least eight persons were killed and several others injured on Monday as a passenger van, carrying more than 15 people, plunged into a gorge near Kahuta town, the second such incident in 24 hours.

At least 30 people were killed, including women and children, when a bus carrying a wedding party plunged into a ravine near Kahuta town, about 70 kilometers from Islamabad, late Sunday night.
In the second incident, officials said a van plunged into gorge in the same area, killing some eight people on Monday evening.
According to police sources, the latest mishap took place in Anwar area of Kahuta region in which at least eight people had been killed and seven others injured.
Police further said the ill-fatted van was carrying passengers returning from funeral prayer of one of the deceased of Sunday’s accident in Kahuta. The dead and injured were shifted to a nearby hospital.
