LALAMUSA  - Federal Minister for Information and Broadcasting Qamar Zaman Kaira has said gallows were prerequisite to become a martyr like Shaheed Zulfikar Ali Bhutto and absconders should not copy Shaheed ZAB.
Addressing the meeting after opening ceremony of power supply to Chak Sikandar on Sunday, he said the PPP-led government gave maximum resources to provinces for strengthening of the country and prosperity of the people.
Kaira said “We believe in serving the people as per vision of Shaheed Zulfikar Ali Bhutto and Benazir Bhutto Shaheed”, adding that “We prefer public service to personal interests”.
The minister said the present democratic government would end the unscheduled power outages at the earliest. “The PPP-led government is utilising all possible resources to overcome the energy crisis,” he added.
He said the government had inked a gas pipeline agreement with Iran despite the opposition of the US.
The minister dispelled the impression of taking electricity from China at a rate of RS 3,000 to 4,000 per house and termed it baseless as it was not a practicable project.
He said “the PPP-led government will continue to launch people-friendly projects for the welfare of the people.”
“The projects initiated in the constituency will be completed at all cost which will provide basic facilities of life to the masses on their doorsteps,” he added.
Chaudhry Tahir Zaman Kaira, Ch Zaheer Asghar Kaira, Haji Basharat, Sheikh Shafiq and others were also present.
