BAHAWALPUR - District Officer Livestock Dr Yaqoob Anjum and Slaughterhouse Superintendent Dr Muhammad Gulzar along with the police conducted raids on illegal slaughterhouses.

According to details, two butchers were arrested from a house at Chah Fateh Khan Bazaar for illegal slaughtering of sick animals and selling substandard meat. The raiding party also seized 40kg of meat from the spot.
Later, the raiding party also inspected different meat stalls across the city to ensure supply of healthy meat.
Meanwhile, the District Officer Livestock warned the butchers to avoid from selling the meat of illegally slaughtered animals.
He asked the butchers to ensure sale of hygienic meat in the best interest of public health.
