Both Nawaz Sharif and Humayun Akhtar discussed political situation in the country with special reference to the governance in the Centre and the problems being faced by the masses due to the policies of the government. The meeting was also attended by Senator Ishaq Dar.
Sources said the leaders discussed the upcoming Senate elections as well as matters pertaining to general elections.
Likeminded are considering options of joining either PML-N or the PTI and the sources say, the present meeting is indicative of the party tilt to the latter, but for electoral alliance and not for merger. The Likeminded group led by Ata Manika has support of over 40 MPAs in Punjab and their support will certainly benefit the PML-N in the upcoming Senate polls and also for the demand of early elections in the country.
Last month leader of the Likeminded Saleem Saifullah Khan had met with Nawaz Sharif in a bid for future cooperation between both the parties.
The Likeminded weigh more advantage in going with the PML-N as its support can be handy to get representation in the Senate which, however, is not available with the PTI.
