Talking to reporters here on Friday, the provincial minister said that he had discussed his party proposal with PML-N President Mian Nawaz Sharif during visit to Peshawar, which was fully supported. He further said that the ANP had given task to its central leader Azam Khan Hoti to consult with all political and liberal parties, to discuss the proposal and to frame a joint strategy for establishment of peace and eradication of terrorism.
The provincial minister stressed on holding meaningful talks with Taliban militants and all political parties should carry out joint efforts for elimination of terrorism and establishment of peace.
He urged the federal government to hold meaningful talks with Taliban. He, however, said if the negotiation efforts did not yield any positive result, eventually take a decisive action against terrorists by launching a military action. “All three frontline states, including United States, Afghanistan and Pakistan, should also evolve a joint strategy for complete elimination of terrorism from this region”, he stressed.
Regarding the killing of three persons in Kohistan, he cautiously said that the case was sub-judice, it wouldn’t comment on that matter. About the industrial stagnation and unsteadily economic growth, he said that situation was quite unfavourable for businesses and industrial development due to current power crisis, particularly poor law and order situation in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. He, however, said that government had taken several initiatives to revival industries and businesses despite current difficult condition.
Hectic efforts vital to sustain anti-terror policies: Kausar
Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Governor, Barrister Masood Kausar, has said that terrorism is a biggest problem, which though has been controlled, yet demands hectic efforts to sustain the policies for ensuring lasting peace in the country.
Talking to the visiting acting president of the Azad Jammu and Kashmir, Sardar Ghulam Sadiq, who during his day long visit to the provincial metropolitan also called on him at Governor’s House, Peshawar on Friday, the Governor welcomed the good gesture of the distinguished guest and said that indeed the nation has been demonstrating exemplary state of conscious towards ensuring better future the country.
Both the dignitaries during their brief meeting were also of the view that for the first time in the history of the country, the government have realized the gravity of issue of extremism and has been focusing upon its resolution with utmost sincerity. The positive aspect of the scenario, they further observed is that the entire nation is mentally prepared and alert to the confronting challenges, which indeed are of the big magnitude.
