QUETTA – At least 12 suspected extremists were arrested from the border town of Zhob, some 370km north of the provincial capital on Wednesday.
According to sources, security personnel raided at a house in Sambaza area of Zhob, adjacent to Waziristan border, arresting 12 persons accursedly linked with the Al-Qaeda and Tehreek-e-Taliban.
A senior government official said the suspects were handed over to the authorities concerned for further interrogation. “Eight suspects are Turk nationals, three Chechens and one is Pakistani hailing from Waziristan,” sources said adding that a large quantity of weapons, CDs and maps were also recovered from them.
“We can say anything about their motives only after the investigation,” said the officials who denied disclosing further details of the arrested.
