Cops still on duty at Sialkot hospitals

SIALKOT - Police remained deployed at Govt Allama Iqbal Memorial DHQ Civil Hospital to maintain security for the doctors who had rejected the Young Doctors Association-led strike call.

The YDA has been on strike for the past 14 days, claiming over 10 lives and leaving scores of patients in the lurch.
On Monday, District Health Officer Dr Javaid Warraich said that the young doctors of the district were serving the ailing community while the association threatened to take action against the docs who returned to their duties. The district administration augmented security for the doctors and deployed lawmen to thwart any untoward incident.
The DHO told the media that 695 patients availed health facilities at OPD on Tuesday. beautification: The Gujranwala DCO has approved a plan for the beautification of the newly established Maulana Zafar Ali Khan Park with a cost Rs15 million here at Wazirabad.
Said Park is situated in the centre of the city which is being established on 11 kanal and 4marla piece of land vacated from the land grabbers in Purani Sarai near Govt Christian High School. Construction of boundary Walls and drainage system has been completed. The construction of a Table tennis Hall, Badminton Hall, Walking track and Gym for Indoor games will be started soon.
