QUETTA - Three people, including a director of Local Government, were gunned down in Kuchlak, some 25 kilometres away from the provincial capital, on Wednesday.According to police, the Director of Local Government Muhammad Saeed, accompanied by Superintendent Yaseen Hazara and driver Muhammad Saleem, was heading towards Quetta in his car. As they reached in Khuchlak area, unidentified armed men opened indiscriminate fire on them with sophisticated weapons, killing all the three inmates on the spot. The assailants fled from the scene soon after committing the crime. Police rushed to the site and moved the deceased to Civil Hospital Quetta for medico-legal formalities and later handed over the bodies to the heirs for burial. “The incident seemed to be a case of target killing,” a police officer said, adding the assailants were following the victims. No group has claimed responsibility for the killings till filing of this report.Police have registered a case against unidentified people and started further investigation.
