BHC stays all funds to Abdul Qadir Gilani

Balochistan High Court (BHC) issuing notice to the Chief Secretary of the province, Monday directed not to issue development funds to Abdul Qadir Gilani.

The court directed Chief Secretary to produce details regarding the funds allocated to the MPAs on plea filed by Speaker Balochistan Assembly Aslam Bhotani against Gilani. The court will hear the petition on March 12 at the BHC. Aslam Bhotani prayed in his petition to the court to disqualify Gilani, as he pledged his seat to the Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) in return for development funds worth Rs.650 million.
The petition sought the court to direct the Chief Secretary to stop the release of the funds.
