LAHORE  – The popularity of the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) has increased by 9 percent in two months till February, according to a Gallop survey.
Gallup states that 41 percent of the surveyed people supported the PML-N in February 2013, up from 32 percent in December. It was also reported in the Gallop survey that the popularity of Pakistan Tehrik-e-Insaaf (PTI) has decreased by four percent.
The survey put the PPP at number two and the PTI at number three in terms of popularity.
Meanwhile, the Pakistan Muslim league Nawaz has finalised three names for caretaker prime minister.
According to sources, three names finalised are Justice Shakirullah Jan, Justice Nasir Aslam Zahid and Justice Ajmal Mian (retd).
PML-N leader Pervaiz Rashid has said that consultation with the allies has been completed in this regard.
He said opposition leader in the National Assembly Ch Nisar would formally inform the prime minister about these names through a letter. Rashid hoped that incumbent government would not create any issue about the proposed names.
The political position of the PML-N has strengthened further owing to its recent alliances with the JUI-F and the Functional League.
