Police officials said that the victim identified as Qamar Allah Ditta was abducted and later his shot dead body was found. Police said unidentified culprits kidnapped him from somewhere along his car bearing registration number APH-153. Assailants killed him and left his body in his car at Nishtar Road. Police being informed rushed on the spot to shift the body at Civil Hospital Karachi for autopsy and later handed over to his family.
The motive behind the murder has yet to be ascertained while police suspect the deceased was killed on sectarian ground because he was associated with different Shia organisations.
A man was shot dead in Sultanabad within the jurisdiction of Mangopir police station. Police officials said that the victim Niyaz Mehsud, 27, son of Buzurk Khan was going somewhere on a motorbike from his residence when unidentified assailants intercepted him and start indiscriminate firing. Resultantly, he sustained multiple bullet injuries and died on the spot. After getting information police reached the spot and shifted the body to Abbasi Shaheed Hospital for post-mortem and later handed over to his heirs. The motive behind the murder has yet to be ascertained. On the other hand, law enforcement agencies claimed to have arrested six accused among four target killer from different parts of the city. Ranger conducted targeted operation in different areas of Lyari including Baghdadi, Nayabad and Liaquat Colony and claimed to have arrested five alleged criminals and shifted them to unknown place for interrogation.
However, Special Investigation Unit (SIU) police claimed to have arrested alleged target killers including Zahid Ali, Shah Nawaz, Nadir Hussain and Saeed from Saeedabad area. Police also recovered four TT pistols their possession.
Police official said that they were affiliated with a political party but police did not disclose the party name. Police claimed that the culprits has involved in at least 12 murders on political basis.
