PM apprised of Lahore residents’ problems

ISLAMABAD - Syed Asif Hashmi, Chairman Evacuee Trust Property Board, called on PM Raja Pervez Ashraf at the PM House Saturday evening and discussed problems of people belonging to Shahdara, Lahore.

He apprised the Prime Minister that the people of Shahdara had to cover long distance to get passports or computerised national identity cards. He, therefore, requested the Prime Minister to direct the Ministry of Interior to open branches of passport office and NADRA in Shahdara so that the people of the area are facilitated. The Prime Minister accepted the suggestion and assured Hashmi that he will promptly issue necessary instructions for early establishment of passport and NADRA offices in Shahdara.
The Prime Minister also took notice of the closure of shuttle train in Shahdara, which was creating inconvenience in commutation of people.
